Here is the course outline:
1. Introduction to the course
Feb 3
Introduction to the course, getting to know your lecturer, break down of the course and introduction to historical foundations. An in-dept presentation of the teaching philosophy will ensure, followed by a breakdown of each assignment and review of dates. Preparation for Arts Meets Science Vernissage; Students will be group together and they will pick a topic for the first assignment. They will have until the week after to review the material and then create a poster in class |
2. Art Meets Science Vernissage + writing workshop
Feb 10
Description: Students collaborate to design educational posters that visually communicate psychological concepts, culminating in a classroom “vernissage” and gallery walk. The editor of the John Lennon wall AAU Magazine, Poppy Elizabeth Mynard will give students a workshop about writing for journalistic enterprise. Students will afterwards write a psychology-related article for the John Lennon Wall. Activity: Vernissage exhibition and peer learning.
