We will being looking at the various professions and roles where professional skills in psychology are used and have a course overview. First lesson will look at empathetic listening skills.

First role plays and interactions and trying out techniques

Structured and unstructured interviews will be looked at form various professional resources. Cultural and cross-cultural psychology will be integrated, focus on working with various cultural groups and in international settings.

Brief psychological assessments will be tried out, methods to build on the assessments and integrating withing a rapport building interview/session.

Group session activity with entire class, second part divided into two.

Variety of ethic codes will be explored to get a comprehensive view of what is acceptable and not acceptable in professional practice.

In depth activity on personal biases, logical fallacies and integrating a growth mindset to organizations and personal life.

Scheduling work days, sessions and personal activities. Smart uses of calendars and integrating breaks and other exercises.

Guest Lecture on working in cross-cultural settings, corporate coaching and interdisciplinary approaches between business and psychology.

Student Presentations

Ethical considerations in the 'grey zone', going beyond the obvious and the ethical guidelines. Moral dilemmas and unwinding exercises for the practitioner. Looking at the concept of supervision.
