Practical info about the course and its requirements. Attendance policy: required and optional class meetings. Career talks with industry insiders; proposed speakers. Assignments and deadlines. Internship requirements. Paperwork related to internship. Possible internship providers. You will meet AAU Career Development Specialist and will learn how you can benefit from individual career counseling. |
2. Personal Branding and Job Search Tools

Finding your path, IKIGAI. The concept of personal brand. Establishing and maintaining your personal brand. Personal SWOT analysis. Job search strategies and tools. Job search resources in the Czech Republic. |

4. Cover Letter, and Other Job Application Materials

Writing a cover letter: why bother about it and how to stand out from the crowd. LinkedIn profile - an important element of professional portfolio. (done last week) Applications through job sites and company's websites. Other application materials that might be required to submit. |
5. The Power of Networking and LinkedIn in Managing Your Career

6. The Importance of a Job Interview

Purpose of a job interview and your role there. Interview types. Before, during and after an interview: what to do and what to avoid. Dealing with nervousness and getting rejected. |

Conflict resolution strategies. Challenging situations you can face at work: how to deal with them. Salary negotiations: who initiates, when is the best time and how to approach this uneasy issue and ask for a raise. |
