1. Course Introduction

Practical info about the course and its requirements. Attendance policy. Career talks with industry insiders. Assignments. Internship requirements. Paperwork related to internship. You will meet AAU Career Development Specialist and will learn how you can benefit from individual career counseling.

2. Professional Branding: CVs & Beyond

Feb 16 6:30pm .. 9:15pm, Room 2.06

Establishing and maintaining your personal brand. CV: make it concise and eye-catching. Cover letter: why and how to write a good one. Tip: bring your CV to implement improvements right away on make notes for the future.

3. Networking and the Power of LinkedIn.

Feb 23 6:30pm .. 9:15pm, Room 2.06

Modern job market and VUCA world; chaos theory in career development. Networking, self-presentation and elevator pitch. LinkedIn - a powerful networking and job search tool.

7. Residency Options for Graduates in the Czech Republic

Guest speaker: Assya Alexanyan, Expat & Immigration Consultant, Foreigners.cz Residency options in Czechia for students and graduates. EU nationals and their family members vs 3rd country nationals - who needs a work permit? Working after student visa and "other" visa. Self-employment, freelancing, own business.

8. Conflicts and Challenges in the Workplace. Salary Negotiations.

No class meeting. Time slot reserved for mock interviews. Arrange a mock interview individually. Tip: if you chose to write an Individual Career Plan, use this time to work on it.
